Description
Chassis-Mountable with Terminal Block Input and Output
Choose the BP4 chassis-mount package when PCB space is a premium, or you simply prefer the power supply mounted to the chassis. It is ideal for use in NEMA enclosures. The BP4 has terminal block connectors for both input and output (Enable, -Vout and +Vout).
As with all Bear Power Supplies, you get inrush current limiting, EMI filtering, and fusing encapsulated in the module. These single-output supplies are available in 5 W, 10 W, 15 W and 30 W models. All Bear Power Supplies are RoHS compliant.
Enable Function
Most BP Series power converters feature an Enable pin that can be used to turn the convertor on (open) or off (shorted to the “_” terminal).
This unique feature allows you to mount the power supply at the rear of the system chassis, near the AC line input, and control it from an ON/OFF switch on your system’s front panel without talking the primary AC power to the front panel. The Enable pin is referenced to the output negative terminal(labeled “_”) and is thus isolated from the primary.
When left open, the Enable pin typically floats at about +4.6V. The input impedance for this node is greater than 10KΩ.
