Bear’s encapsulated power module features high reliability, long life, and wide operating temperature range for use in compact medical instruments without fans or vents
Bear Power Supplies’ compact 30-watt AC/DC power converter has been approved for use in medical electrical equipment. The power supply recently passed TUV testing to meet UL 2601-1, CAN/CSA-C22.2 No.601.1-M90 and IEC 601-1 requirements, Bear announced today.
The single-output encapsulated modules are available with a range of output voltages from 3.3 V to 48 V. They feature low leakage current of 0.5 mA (max) and operating temperature range to +70 degrees C. This makes them suited for long-term use in enclosed, compact medical instruments without fans or vents.
The 30-watt power supplies measure approximately 2.5 x 4 x 1 inches and are available in PCB-mountable, chassis-mountable and DIN-rail packages. A unique mini-IEC input connector and detachable line cord on most models improves convenience and safety by eliminating exposed high voltage traces from the system designer’s printed circuit board.
Standard 30-watt medical power supplies are available from stock starting as low as $52 each in volume. Bear also specializes in custom power supply design and manufacturing for medical OEMs.
